New Hawaii threat

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Thu Aug 28, 2003 7:42 am

Our new depression near 131W is really organizing. NHC position at 120 hours has it just 60NM south of Hawaii as a hurricane. This appears to be the most iminene tUS threat, unless furture Fabian moves further south than expected and threatens the VI and PR

TD#10E looks to be a hurricane, albeit 75 mph hurricane by 120 hours and about 60 nm away from hawaii. That's not alot. Outer rain bands could easily hit the big island if not more along with huge battering waves. Hopefully the intensity doesn't increase further and hawaii isn't a direct target. Could be very close though within 5 days or so, stay tuned!!!

Well, this will definitely make things interesting for the residents in Hawaii whose weather is typically not very exciting.

I would not want to see Hawaii hit by a hurricane, but I don't think this would have any impact on the remainder of the Atlantic hurricane season.
