LOOKING AT RECENT IMAGES ,LOOKS LIKE IT WONT DEVELOP A LLC UNTIL IT CLEARS THE PENINSULA, BUT WHEN IT GETS INTO THE GULF IT MIGHT BECOME A FAIRLY STRONG T.S.,LET ME KNOW WHAT YALL THINK.

I am thinking Cat 1 or cat 2 storm - look how fast Claudette developed. From what I have heard and I could be wrong mind you - but I don't think the steering currents are all the strong in the GOM and this could be slow mover perhaps?

That's what I was advertizing since yesterday. Given that it's over the Yucatan Pennisula right now, it would have to wait obviously until it reaches the gulf to strengthen into a tropical entity. Certainly something gulf coastal residents should monitor. That's in addition to fabian's threat to the us east coast and Jimena threatening hawaii. Jimena is a hurricane at this time in the east pac.

TICKA I HOPE YOUR WRONG, BUT SEEMS LIKE THE NHC IS THINKING MORE ON A 15 KT SPEED, EXPECTING A LANDFALL ON SUNDAY NIGHT,BUT YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT...ANY PROS OUT THERE WITH A LIL MORE INFO

Ray I could be wrong. I by no means know the answers - I just give my opinion. Most of the time its bad LOL. But nevertheless time will tell as I always say.

This one has me really concerned as it looks like it will be a northwestern/northern gulf coast storm as compared to the 2 past south tex/mex storms. It's going to be a busyyyy weekend!

Got that right, PTracker - I'm not sure this area is ready to take Miss Gracie head on :o Hopefully everyone will monitor the weather closely and be prepared.....all we can do is watch and wait :roll:
