Capepoint : Sorry about that. May your night be calm and tomorrow...peaceful. Mind you, I'd rather have someone who was 'bored' rescue me than someone who was all hyped up.

Nightline on ABC is just about to do a segment on a "Hurricane Hound" storm tracker -- I think the footage they showed in the promo was from hurricanetrack.com.

on behalf of all of us in eastern NC, thanks to all that have wished us well. We hope we won't ever need to repay the favor, but know that we will when it's your turn to be in the path.
I am concerned for those up north as well, this storm does not seem to be fooling around, as we have taken considerable flooding and damage already being as how we are just in the outer bands.
You guys up north please take this seriously.

As of 11pm heading was 020... If you extrapolate that out your looking at a landfall near Okracoke... and into the sound... No buffer as all to slow Irene down

Here is WRNS. They are broadcasting the New Bern ABC affiliate which is in turn doing 24/7 storm coverage.

TWC's Jay Gray is based in Kills Devil Hills, NC and is doing a competent job in reporting and showing videos of surf, rain and community concerns/impact. Nice to see such a calm, knowledgeable voice in the throes of the increasing landward bands of surge, wind and rain of Irene.

I believe bob 93.3 (WDLX???) is simulcasting wcti tv's coverage. Also, may try talk station WTKF.
other stations you could try are WRNS and WSFL.

I have not been listening tonight as the tv is still working.

I have to say, our local met in New Bern, Skip Waters, is really something. He's been at it all day and night and right now he's picking out tornado signatures that aren't even reported by the NWS. He really is a fine Met.
