I'm safe, a bit of flooding in the back yard from the estuary which is slowly receding. Winds were 30 gusting up to 50 mph from 12:00 am - 8:00 am, was like a solid nor'easter here. A couple of trees lost limbs down the street, otherwise no real damage. :sun:

Never ran into any danger during my chase in Long Branch, other than having my travel hindered by the historic Raritan River flooding, I'm fine.

I am so sorry to hear this. I wish I could come up there and help you clean up. Having been through this with friends after Allison in 2001 I know how tough it is. I will be saying prayers for you and all the others that are cleaning up after this disaster.

Exploding houses:
http://www.northjersey.com/news/Official_Explosion_at_Wayne_home.html
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/08/pompton_lakes_house_is_destroy.html

There was also a gas line rupture just down the street from us, but they shut us off quickly.

Then there was the oil spill upriver:
http://www.northjersey.com/news/082911_ ... River.html

Last I heard there are at least 10 homes in our town that have been condemned. Some have walls missing, some have foundations with holes you can see through, some have massive erosion around them and you can see most of the foundation.

Its pretty messy, but it could be worse.... at least we aren't having to have supplies airlifted in like in Vermont......(see there is always a bright side! :D )

Thank you all for your good thoughts! I am sure we will be fine.

I've been listening to Nj101.5, there are still some roads closed and I still see lots of damage, hope everything works out for you!
