BigB looks to be around for at least 5 days-120hrs according to that run. Looks to also be at least upper cat 1 hurricane strength so we could have some major flooding and associated wind damage from prolonged winds.

is it me or is NOAA 42 in the wrong area investigating? i think there 120 miles ESE of the suspect area... overlay vis sat and i'm not sure why they are so far SE of what i think is the invest. (27n 91.5W i think is the area to be)

I noticed the S2K map shows it a lot further NW than where it was on the map just an hour ago? So is the to reflect where they thionk the center is right now, or is it just a general area placement with the L?

looks like Kermit is heading towards the center area... so whe should know in about 30 mins or not.. if this is tropical or subtropical system. there flying SE to NW now! :)

Well I went to the store today. I don't anticipate anything too major but I got some canned goods, tuna fish, bread, chips, diet cokes, etc. Even if we don't get much wind and we never lose power (please dont!) I don't want to get out in all that rain. If this ends up being a big dud then no loss, I have plenty to snack on and can watch movies all weekend. :)

As I enjoy maps, here are some I found on accuweather. There are a lot of uncertainties, but just something to look at.

BigB, dont know if you have looked, but I just checked the NWS site and here in Gonzales they have updated the forecast to 80% chance of t-storms w/heavy rain thru wed next week. Starting tocome around to idea that this will get pretty nasty around here. Think I will go out and fill up all my gas cans and run my generators. Our power goes out if it rains to hard or the sun shines to bright some times. :roll:

Good luck! I also filled up my gas on the way home. I called the mother in law to let her know to get any shopping and errands done today. Poor thing is having her doors replaced and they can't put the weather stripping on yet. The guy who does that and some other thing is gone. If he doesn't get there tomorrow first thing then I don't know what they will do to keep the water out! :cry:

What in the world? This is supposed to be stalled south of the Louisiana coast and ALL of the rain is going to stop right at the Texas/Louisiana border, per Accuweather? Seriously?

A meteorologist from WWLTV in NO just posted on facebook that they did find west winds and so it should be declared at least a tropical depression.
