No there saying that they want TD13 to become Lee and not 94l

Sorry, I am confused it is not very often a system would go from 93L, TD 13 and then progress to invest 94L.

Im gonna solve the mystery so we can progress..think hes referring to 94L transforming into Lee..before TD13 in the Gulf can attain TD status...if TD13 remains a depression(unlikely) for a couple of days..and 94L attains TS staus before TD 13..94Lis named Lee..TD 13 would be Maria.......Mods delete if you desire to..just trying to help...

This isn't right either. If 94L was named Lee before 93L then 93L would become Marie. The poster is not saying 93L went to TD13 and then would go to 94L...now let's get back on topic please!

Yes, let's cut the tropical meteorological version of Whose On First and get back to discussing Tropical Depression #13.

Thank you.

NAM is updating now and the GFS will start updating at 10:30pm CT. I'm not sure about the data being in them.

In a real quick recap, can someone state what has happened? I've read through 3 pages and still don't know. Sorry.

That convection down near 24N 88W is really intense. If it keeps up we may just get a major relocation of a center!!

If a center formed down there i think it would miss the trough

Most models suggest a slow north movement and then system gets picked up by weekend trough
Center of circulation identified earlier today
NHC declares it a tropical depression
Landfall predicted for southern Louisiana
Biblical amounts of rain forecasting along and east/northeast of the path
Center may be relocating further south this evening

Do we have a low level and mid level low in Gulf? (What else is new with Storms lately)
Wonder is the mid low is seperating itself now -heading N.W,?

I am just a hack weather guy - mainly just watch storms, without too much data (a hobby -like most of you all)
Sure is fun -eh?

I am still looking at the weak llc to possibly relocate sse in that deep persistant convective mass in the central gulf. It has been blowing up down there all afternoon and evening. The ULL in central LA looks to be playing havoc with the northern part of TD13 although it is slowly moving nw away from it. Are we even sure a llc is still around 91-92w?

i see no sign that TD 13 is moving nw or wnw... wonder if it stalled or is trying to reform more to the east or se?

If that QPF map verifies put out by the HPC , LA is going to be in a world of hurt. 2ft of rain for areas at or below sea level. We may need to send some boats to NO. Hopefully it won't be as bad as that, (crossing my fingers).
