I agree that it doesn't mean that for sure, but I do think the models were tending more westerly when the initializations were further South (or at least some European one), so it's fun to speculate as to what they may do if the center is back further South...

"Here is the rainfall that is currently forecast with TD #13. 10 to 15 inches with isolated 20 inch amounts are possible in the white shadded areas that includes Iberia, Vermilion, St. Martin and St. Mary Parishes. Rainfall amounts are expected to drop off rapidy north and west wth 3 to 4 inches forecast in the Alexandria and Lake Charles area and 1 to 2 inches around Beaumont. Area also includes Lafayette Parish"

Heaven forbid if this comes to fruition. Not looking good for Lafayette Parish and the rest of south central to southeastern Louisiana.

Here's a comparison of the 18z total and 0z total @ 9/3/2011. Doesn't move west, but more precip to the north.

Interesting Map CajunMama!

I'm surprised it stops at 10". I'm thinking they are being conservative since that 10" is widespread.

I was surprised to see TD13 on weather underground forecast for Austin Sat/Sun. Also says 101F for Sat so maybe they think we might get rain band?

Can't link - I'm on my phone.

That map is odd because the middle is white but they don't have white in their scale, lol The middle of it, including my backyard, should be shaded a green as that looks next in line. Also, why a small area of 10" outside of the 9"?

Well rain, no rain, hurricane or not... I just stepped outside and tonight is the first time it's felt Tropical in Houston in quite some time... I really missed the warm blanket feeling if you know what I mean.

If center hasn't reformed it may be eaten by ULL and dry air from TX.

Im going to uncover my boat, pull it out and charge up the batteries. Seems that will be my primary method of transportation around here for awhile. Don't even think my 4x4 diesels could help the way things are looking.

Yes Rock, we know you think the center is relocating. I hope you are right just so things get more interesting. hehe

Why can't this happen in the winter during a big cold snap? :froze: (not a tropical system, obviously, but those huge QPFs
