I'm usually a lurker. In fact, my user name is so old that I forgot what it was and had to make this one. The Texas drought talk is getting pretty annoying. At first this morning I just shrugged it off, but it's been all day long on this thread, and it's interfering with those of us trying to discuss, read, or gather information about Lee. We get it. You want the rain. There is nothing anyone can do about it, so please quit spamming this thread about Lee with it. It's Friday night...go out with your friends. If not, please move the drought talk somewhere else.

As for Lee, here in New Orleans I received only one significant bout of heavy rain around 6:00. Winds were probably in the area of 30 mph. According to the radar, I might be seeing another squall in about 15 minutes.

I even heard some of these boys in here that live down by the coast say they wouldnt mind taking a hit from a Cat 1 if they could just get some rain!! Them some desperate folks down there! The heat got them thinking wrong.

That's sad, but I can totally understand it.

I know that all along the Gulf there's a drought going on, so at least some will get relief, but I think that having well over a foot of rain on ground that is as hard as a rock will be very dangerous.

Nothing really worth mentioning right now. Getting close to an inch here at the house. Has been mostly light rain with a little moderate mixed in for the last few hours. A little breeze to go with it. Even along the coast not much yet. Maybe a few places getting close to 3in. Almost like a slow moving cold front trying to move thru.

Bitter much?!

yeah I am bitter...when i get a $500 light bill and my house is set at 80's during the day....as far as I am concerned LEE is wasting away TCHP....

But what, because of this drought they say beef prices will rise pretty good come 2012, due to increase in corn, no feed for cows because of no rain, ranchers having to slaughter more cows because they can't afford them due to the drought. All these issues according to Texas A&M Agriculature will affect prices of beef come 2012. They went to say as well to stock up on the beef prior to Jan. 2012 because prices will rise. So if you hear us Texans complain about the drought, it will soon affect a lot of people in the US. We are just the beginning of a greater potential problem.
