Looks like the 18z NAM takes LEE into SE Vermilion parish immediately which is where it appears to have just made landfall per the visible. Also has the precip distribution nailed at that time period too. If we see a WNW motion and then a turn back to the south it may very well be on to something...

From what Im seeing here in Beaumont, TX...It would not suprise me if NAM comes to a reality! Amazing how this is effecting all the way from Tx to Fl!! Wow...heavy band coming through now! That had a gust atleast close to 35-40! I know it's not, BUT it sure seems Lee is moving more west than N/NE! Houston...Im trying to send some your way! You'd sure would enjoy this! Really does look like a TS "beginning" here in SETX! And according to radar, it does look like the "majority" of the precip is in SWLA/SETX!

Center is moving north, rain bands are expanding west. Wind field expanding west, too as it steadily loses tropical characteristics.

The 18z NAM solution is a little crazy but it's actually nailing the current precip distribution so it's hard to completely discount it. Looks to be heading NNW back towards the coast at the end  .

Edit: Looking at the latest visible on GHCC site, looks like the LLC has just made landfall in SE Vermilion parish.

Your right PT, the NAM definitely has the precip shield portrayed correctly. Just have to see if the mass starts moving south again.

And while it has moved slightly from update to update, it really hasn't moved much since 7 am this morning. It was at 29.4/92.0 and now it is at 29.4/92.1. Basically stationary.

center looks to me to be moving West of north which helped bring in the moisture we are seeing. Still though all the globals show LEE going out to the NE...so that is a good bet...

he is still west of forecast points...

We've got high clouds with intermittent sun where I am (near downtown Houston). Lots of wind with some stronger gusts - knocked over my eggplant plant. I keep watching the outer bands of Lee on the radar and they seem to dissipate before they get to 610 on the east side of Houston. Our dry air is still very strong.

Should be getting good rain around League City/Dickinson near the radar site now.

My parents in Crockett can probably smell the rain! Please continue moving West so they get some!

It is sunny here in Baton Rouge, I can even see spots of blue sky. Everyone is out and about like a normal day. Hopefully our quarterback Lee will be much more formidable today.

Lots of wind out here in Cypress, between 249 and 290. Knocking over umbrellas and sending stuff flying!

Just made a trip into Beaumont with heavy rain band all the way there and worse on the way back. Lots of streets already with water. Flash flood watch could pan out. There was a wreck on the way back. Very gusty winds at the moment.

Yes, it is interesting to some some blue skies and the streets drying off inbetween feeder bands.

I wonder in the game had been here at home if it would have been postponed or moved earlier in the day.

So what's up with the front? Is it still on time and going to pick up Lee as predicted?

Strong band north of the center moving toward Lake Charles. Probably tropical-storm force winds in it, certainly heavy rain.

As for the good folks of west LA and east TX, I am happy that Lee is moving west enough to give you rain.

well if you believe the NAM it wont dig as much before lifting out...

climo speaking it is still first of Sept and would have to be a good one to get this far down....just sayin....

local AFD- lows in the upper 60's and highs in the low 90's this week...so it makes it down this far according to them...

NE side of Dickinson, sun is shining, but I see the clouds hanging over west League City. Lots of wind.
