Agree with that :). Thanks Cycloneye to keep us informed. Let's wait and see what could really happen from these 3 lows pressure...

Our friend underthwx is helping to mantain this thread active providing information, even she is from Texas. That is because she is concerned for us to not have bad weather events in this area.

Gusty, another thing is we dont need more rain as the grounds are saturated in PR. Is Guadeloupe in the same status as PR? Hopefully, these systems east of the islands dont bring more.

The reports from the islands as I have seen indicate that the NE Caribbean has seen above average rainfall so far this year.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
800 PM EDT SUN SEP 18 2011

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A LOW PRESSURE AREA LOCATED OVER THE CENTRAL TROPICAL ATLANTIC ABOUT
1550 MILES EAST OF THE WINDWARD ISLANDS HAS BECOME BETTER DEFINED
DURING THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR
FAVORABLE FOR GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT OF THIS DISTURBANCE OVER THE NEXT
FEW DAYS AS IT MOVES SLOWLY WESTWARD. THIS SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM
CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

SHOWER ACTIVITY HAS DIMINISHED IN ASSOCIATION WITH A SMALL LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED ABOUT 1050 MILES EAST OF THE NORTHERN
LEEWARD ISLANDS. DEVELOPMENT...IF ANY...OF THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED
TO BE SLOW TO OCCUR DUE TO UNFAVORABLE UPPER-LEVEL WINDS. THIS
SYSTEM HAS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15
MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

Yeah absolutely Cycloneye the same as you but maybe slighter.

Whereas, August was a very wet month. :rarrow: http://www.meteo.fr/temps/domtom/antill ... mtguad.pdf :darrow:

Given Meteo-France Guadeloupe:
"The dominant character of the month is, once more in 2011, the rainfall very important (it rained 130 to 200% more than normal on the East and North of the)Large-land, the Desirade and Marie-Galante, and 50 to 90% on the rest of (the archipelago and the islands of the North). The passage of two hurricanes Emily and Irene at the embryonic stage of storm tropical heavily contributed."

That is a lot above average rain in that island for sure.

Agree with you :) that's very impressive and you understand why the E and NE Carib islands don't need any strong tropical system...

For info, concerning the rain marker of yesterday and today ( see below Meteo-France Guadeloupe report): http://www.meteo.fr/temps/domtom/antill ... ameter=new Date().getTime()

The strongest showers of the episode were observed during these last 24 hours, especially last night. It was thus noted:
-about 120 millimetres (or litres/m²) of water at Marie-Galante
-about 100 mm on the great Fund (Morne à l'eau, Abymes)
-80 mm on Sainte-Anne
-50 mm-la Desirade
It is the Basse-Terre which has at least been watered this weekend, with "only" 30 mm identified on the heights of
Petit - Bourg and Capesterre region.
