What on earth would cause this?
Interesting weather phenomenon. My Aunt in Kentucky took this picture and we were wondering if anyone knows what causes this?

They look like gravity waves.
When was the picture taken; i.e. date and time?

I think you are right! I'd never heard of gravity waves before, but looking at other photos, that's exactly what this looks like. I just e-mailed her back to see what date/time she took these. She uploaded them on September 17th so I think that is the same day she took them.

My Aunt says, "It was taken September 17, 2011 at around 2:30 pm in Flagg Springs, KY." btw.
