CNN reports Fabian has turned out sea

#1 Postby rob8303 » Sun Aug 31, 2003 4:10 pm

Hi, I just wanted to post this before checking out the latest info. On CNN today, they reported that Fabian had turned out to sea and was no longer a threat to any land. I was shocked to hear that. Is that true? It wasn’t Oreleon Sydney this time. It was on their news headlines. I rolled my eyes when I heard it but considered it may be true later on.

How completely irresponsible

#2 Postby Steve Cosby » Sun Aug 31, 2003 4:12 pm

(at the risk of posting this only to be told to sit down and shut up because I'm not a professional met)

That has to be one of the most irresponsible things CNN has done this year.

turn out to sea???

#7 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Sun Aug 31, 2003 4:41 pm

Is CNN from west Africa or something??? If they're from the Cape Verdes, then they're exactly right it's turned out to sea. The United States is still far from out of the woods from this one!!! This is a dangerous hurricane worth taking seriously on the eastern seaboard!!!

Whether this makes landfall on the eastern seaboard or not, it's gonna cause indirect effects in the form of dangerous rip currents and nearshore waves of 6-10 feet and beach erosion. It will be alot worse than that if this makes landfall on the eastern seaboard sometime next weekend!!!! Stay tuned!

I didn't hear that on CNN today, but I heard MSNBC was saying Fabian had wind of 80mph this morning. Now are some of you going to blame Clinton for this screw up?

Yesterday afternoon, Fox News was reporting Fabian having 80 mile per hour winds. Page Hopkins went to the Fox News Weather Center (outside Boston, several miles northwest of the city) and the meteorologist CORRECTED what Page had said.

What's so sad is, people hear these forecasts and take it like it's written in stone. So they forget about it, it turns toward land, and who's the first people they blame? NWS or NHC.

MSNBC / Bastardi

#17 Postby Steve Cosby » Sun Aug 31, 2003 9:11 pm

Somebody mentioned MSNBC. As Fabian gets closer, MSNBC enlists Bastardi for comments.

At least he'll get the stats correct...

LOL - Clinton News Network and Communist News Network

And in the blue corner, we have:

Fascist Orwellian Xenophobes

Aw hell, thrown in MSNBC and make it a triple threat match.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just the same, I'm glad to be socially liberal/libertarian yet fiscally conservative. We call that Independent here in Louisiana.

All News Networks are in it for the money.

/end spiel on crass commercialism and homerism news
