Banned??

#1 Postby Steve H. » Sun Aug 31, 2003 10:03 pm

The high school crowd must be in chat tonight. I come in in the middle of a fight, ask a couple of questions and get banned for no apparent reason. I think a couple of the admins on this board need to revise their attitudes. Not a friendly place tonight.

I think the Ops in the Storm2K Chat room do a very good job

#11 Postby Anonymous » Sun Aug 31, 2003 11:21 pm

We have a major and very dangerous hurricane out in the Atlantic and we had more than 50 people in the chat room. It's a very challenging job to make sure the chat room goes smoothly. With all the people in there, there are inevitably going to be some toes stepped on accidentally or otherwise. Great One tried to get in tonight and it sure didn't take long for the Ops to correct that problem.

I have spent hours in there, enjoying the privilege of taking part in an enjoyable chat atmosphere. I think all the Ops do an excellent job of moderating the room. Storm2K is an excellent place to hang out, major hurricane or no major hurricane. I really enjoy this place and I hope all the excellent storms keep on coming off the African continent all season. It's fascinating in there, reading all the posts and trying to keep up with 50 wonderful chatters all posting at once!! :) :) :) :) :)

You are doing an excellent job!! Keep up your good work!!!

Thanks for the post JEB. Being a moderator and the bad guy/girl isn't an easy job. I love to chat and spend hours in there during hurricane season. But sometimes you have to rule with an iron fist and we aren't a babysitting service.

Your post makes me realized its all for a good reason - I appreciate it very much.

I agree Jeb and Patricia. I spend a lot of my online time in the Storm2K Chatroom and really love the discussions we have, even off-topic issues when there isn't any tropical (or other) weather to talk about. :D

I truly feel, well actually am a member of this great family, corresponding with a truly great people; with so many people joining the site and visiting the chatroom things happen and issues are dealt with as soon as possible.

It's definitely well worth it.

It's well-worth it ticka and you and the other Mods do an very good job. It's appreciated.

Your board and chat are gaining more members by the day, like a thunderstorm busting the cap and exploding into a supercell inside of 30 minutes.

It's not just the major hurricane, either. It's all that hard work you and the other Mods put in day after grueling day. You've been in there pulling all nighters for 2 or 3 days straight. There have been the inevitable squabbles and fights, and I have watched as the Mods handled things well.

The Storm2K chat is a compelling experience. I am finding myself spending a good deal of time in there. It's because the room is well-run, and because its possible to learn things in there! It's FUN, and I am becoming addicted!!

I hope the storms keep on coming, it's fun to discuss them!! Plus, I REALLY enjoyed chatting with 52 ppl tonight!! That's the very first time I have EVER gotten to do that!!!

Thank you very much for a wonderful place to hang out!

Everyone here please have a nice day.

Great post Jeb! I was in there until alittle after 10:00 pm and I must've missed the fighting. I'm sure that the people that got in the middle of the cross-fire and shouldn't have, it was purely unintentional.
