Was Rina the last named system of 2011 Atl season?
Almost one month to end officially the 2011 North Atlantic Hurricane Season and it has been very active in terms of number of storms (17) The question is, was Rina the last system of the 2011 Atlantic season or will there be more? The poll closes on October 31rst at 4:18 PM EDT.
I say 2011 will squeeze one more and voted on that option.

I say Rina was the last. I'd be nice to get 2 more, just to tie 2010, but I dont see anything else other than maybe a few late invests with 20-30%. But then again I said Rina would never develop so, who knows

4 more. Despite the fact that the storms have been weak overall, it reminds me of 2005 and last year as far as almost every disturbance that flared up has been able to develop into a TC. The current (and forecast to continue) progressive pattern of lows across the U.S., which is preventing deep incursions of cold air into the eastern and southeastern Atlantic, plus La Nina conditions, plus frequent episodes of light enough shear to let a disturbance spin up enough to get to TS status, indicates that there's a high chance that we'll see a few November storms and possibly a December storm as well. The number of TCs that develop in a season and the strength of those that develop are not directly related at all. This season is proof of that.

I have a feeling November will have two storms, I voted for 2 more.

I think we may see one or two more storms, I voted one though. The Caribbean is the place that could give birth to another system IMO.

I'll go with that basically. A large cut-off cold low between the Azores and Bermuda will develop a small warm core center; typical for November.

I also voted to say we will get one more named storm before the book is closed on the 2011 season. I think another system will form either in the Western or SW Caribbean within the next couple of weeks.

Good participation so far and the voting has three of the options that are close. Those who still have not voted can do so as the poll closes on Monday afternoon at 4:18 PM EDT.

I think maybe one or two, but since I can only pick one, I voted "one" since that's what I'm leaning towards right now.
