Patricia, I think I have your answer. Here it is:

BULLETIN...IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
347 PM CDT SUN AUG 31 2003

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON...

THIS ENCOMPASSES THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES AUSTIN... BRAZORIA...
BRAZOS... BURLESON... CHAMBERS... COLORADO...FORT BEND... GALVESTON...
GRIMES... HARRIS... HOUSTON... JACKSON... LIBERTY... MADISON...
MATAGORDA...MONTGOMERY... POLK... SAN JACINTO...TRINITY...WALKER...
WALLER... WASHINGTON... AND WHARTON.

TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO FEED NORTH FROM THE GULF
INTO THE REMAINS OF GRACE. GRACE WAS NEAR NAVASOTA AT 3 PM AND
WAS DRIFTING NORTHWEST. BANDS OF SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP TO THE SOUTH
OF GRACE AND WILL COLLIDE WITH MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OVER FORT
BEND...BRAZORIA...AND HARRIS COUNTY AND THEN GET CARRIED NORTH
INTO THE AREAS FROM CONROE TO CALDWELL TO GROVETON TO CLEVELAND.
WIDESPREAD RAINFALL IS ON TAP TONIGHT WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4
INCHES BEING FAIRLY COMMON...ISOLATED RAINFALL TOTALS OF 6 TO 8
INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR STREET
FLOODING AND SHOULD AVOID LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS. THIS
ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL PRODUCE RUNOFF THAT WILL AGGRAVATE RISES ON
THE RIVERS AND BAYOUS.

PERSONS ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS SHOULD MONITOR THE WEATHER CLOSELY
THROUGH MONDAY FOR THE DETAILS OF FLOODING

And here is the current long range radar loop:

http://weather.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... khgx.shtml

This shows that the heaviest of the rains are to Houston's N and E. We will see if this image changes to match the latest above as the evening progresses.

Here at the house in W. Houston I have recieved 1.60" of rain so far. currently mostly cloudy and humid.

Yup, that was just before the really heavy stuff came down. Didn't last long though. From the looks of things on the east end, you wouldn't even know we had a tropical anything here.

We're still getting rain here in Beaumont. It's developing in the GOM and coming onshore overnight. Weather alert went off a little while ago and they re-issued a flood watch for Monday. Still more to come.....

River flood warning for Pine Island Bayou....not good for me. My house won't flood but access to and from my house will.

Rain

1.0" yesterday, and 0.62" today so far. But it looks like we have a feeder band coming ashore into Houston today. I guess we won't be BBQing.

1.6" yesterday and at least that much since 4am this morning. As wxman57 stated, we have a long training feeder band continuing to move in right over the Houston metro area now and for the forseable future on the radar.

Looks like it will be a dreary labor day for SE Texas and Louisiana as there are showers all over the place.

I'd say my drought is history.....I dumped another 4.25 inches from my rain gauge this morning. I'm sitting at 7 1/2 inches from Miss Grace and there's still more out there!!

ticka...can you come pick me up on your ark?? ;)
