Had some big flakes at the start of this little band, but quickly turned to a light rain / sleet mix.

Where is that warm mongerer.

On a serious note seems like the pattern of upper lows and troughs are going to continue to roll through here for the next 7-10 days. So more chances for rain. Long range GFS does look a little cold after the 22nd or so. The show is over here in Del Rio. Official temp at 30 but I have 33 with light rain.

Same here. In the last 5 minutes, we've had a mix of light rain, light sleet, and even some snowflakes. Seems to be turning into more of a light rain.

Marble Falls all the way to San Angelo looks like they are in the thick of things. Must be a lot of white neighborhoods that way

More moderate sleet in Wells Branch now. Heavier than the first go round.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Portastorm. By the way, that doesn't look like sleet, it looks like graupel, which is basically partially melted snowflakes.

I think you may be correct. That precip fell during the first band ... the second band was more of a mixture of zr/sn and light rain.

Thanks for being a good sport! You know we love ya! Besides, we both know this may be "it" for us winter weather fans until late this year.

I think what we are getting here in north Austin is graupel, getting a light shower now mixed with rain.

My dewpoint here at home has already gone above freezing... warm advection well underway and heading north. I have my doubt about DFW getting much. Hopefully I am wrong

Link to my cheap weather station since my Davis bit the dust. Readings are fairly accurate except for wind speeds since it is in a somewhat sheltered location. It also does not have the best radiation shield for sunny days.

You can actually see the onset of precip early this morning with temp and dewpoint.
