Best tweet of the night so far regarding winter weather in the southern plains:

RickMitchellWX: "@justinracette 2-3" snow possible overnight, but ending in Stillwater by mid-morning. Better do your homework just in case there's class."

Oklahoma continues to win the snow jackpot...

@RickMitchellWX: "Some of these early snow totals have been impressive: 5" in Sayre and 4" in Cheyenne. 2-4" for OKC looks reasonable. #okwx"

Judging by some pictures I am seeing, Granbury looks like they have received close to an inch on the ground and about three inches on cars.

It's really coming down now, starting to stick to everything but pavement.

SNOW here in Denton, just 1 mile east of the UNT campus. It's coming down at a good clip. Cars and grass are turning white.

Same here, except it seems to be mostly sleet. Sticking to the grass, and cars and roofs. Looks very pretty!

It's starting to get a little heavier here in Little Elm. Still not too much though, and nothing is sticking yet. Will post a video when it starts coming down a little harder. Regrettably, it will be taken from an I-Phone so the quality won't be too great as there's not enough light out.

Well still early, but it looks like my 1-3 isn't likely to verify, iorange's dusting looks more reasonable. Still a lot of convection happening in west Texas so we'll see how much things warm up overnight. Story of this winter for me, bust galore . Nice to finally see snow though and DFW is all but guaranteed no shutout!

I am still hoping your prediction is right! I shouldn't be rewarded for going with the safe bet.

While it's definitely not exciting like snow, I just got about 15 minutes of sleet and after a short break, the precip should pick up again soon.

Glad to hear you got something :P. No model, and I mean none even came close to seeing what happened in Southeast Texas today.

I think everyone except wxman57 is really going to like the Canadian run that just came out....right in line with what the Japanese model has been showing for later this week!!! It seems the Canadian has been performing the best of late as well.
