Getting very, very concerned for all points south of the Red River.

The convection out west didn't reach the Sherman/Denison area at all. I had hoped that some rain cooled air might stabilize the atmosphere a bit. We're sitting at 75 degrees with sunny skies and howling southerly winds.

I'm afriad this is going to be a memorable afternoon and evening in Texas for all of the wrong reasons.

Update from Reed Timmer:

"Storm to the WSW of Dallas shown here is trying to move east of the cold outflow and into the warm and moist air. Could have tornado potential as it approaches DFW area."

It's 52 and raining in Graham, lets hope the complex can send out cooler air before cells develop. But that same outflow boundary can also initiate more storms ahead. I still think central Texas will be the sector to watch for large lone supercells. HRRR favors an area between Waco and Austin for development and sending it east/northeast.

Edit: In fact you could probably put Waco, Laredo, Houston triangle for supercells. Not that the storms up north are anything to play with, looks linear to me from the latest models.

Yeah, my concern level continues to grow as well. We're getting sporadic sun here in Austin. I'm sure it's only making the instability worse. Looks like our worst period will be 6 pm to 6 am. The latest satellite precip estimates out of NESDIS suggest the squall line may stall in 3-6 hours. Gee, won't that be fun?!

Yeah, it's really bad up here too. I'm used to it being windy, but this is something else. My doors are consistently shaking. Even my 2 year old has noticed.

Starting to see some cells try to pop in Cooke County and SE of Dallas.

Also, big storm down near Del Rio (heading for Sonora) looks menacing.

I'd say that between now and 7 p.m., going to get very interesting all over Central Texas.

Yeah, the cell in Val Verde County just prompted a Tornado Warning. Radar shows a possible tornado near Juno.
