Playing with Raindar Android app: NEXRAD 124 NMI/3.35 degrees is showing a "donut hole" in intensity on the west side of Carrollton, TX, just south of TVS Y7.

Edit: image (not attached) was from 2:30 PM CDT.

Picked up the kids from school early today. Got them in the closet right now. Siren went off in Little Elm about 10 minutes ago. I think we'll luck out and storm will past just to our east, but not taking any chances. Stay safe everyone!

The cell that had the Tornado Emergency in Arlington looks like it's going to go right through downtown Frisco about 5 miles to my east. Right now moderate wind and heavy rain. Got the north end of the squall line passing through very shortly.

* AT 241 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A
LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PING PONG BALL
SIZE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS
WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 4 MILES NORTH OF JUSTIN TO
FLOWER MOUND TO MANSFIELD...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

All good and well here for the time-being. Staying very vigilant but there are absolutely so many warnings right now its hard to keep up with everything. Unloading tons of info on facebook for all my friends in the area.

The CBS chaser, forgot his name, just said the high school was spared but the elementary school took a direct hit and many homes are severely damaged in Forney.

EDIT: Live broadcast showing the chaser's livecam and giving a glimpse of the situation there.

Boy, you usually see the SPC post at least a moderate risk in this kind of situation. It wouldn't surprise me if they do shortly.

I chased the storms today, never left the eastern half of Dallas County. I've never seen a tornado in my life and have lived in DFW for 11 years. Today I saw three of them.

I'm not a good photographer when I'm driving.

Near Loop12 and I-30 in East Dallas, the funnel is too freaking close to me. In the foreground, behind the stupid Shell gasoline makes your engine better sign. It wasn't on the ground at this point.

Image

In east Mesquite driving east, came around a bend and saw this:

Image

Zoomed in, it was a monster. Was only on the ground for a few minutes, in Forney.
Image

I also saw the tornado from I-20 near I-45. I SAW that thing and it was terrifying. And gray against a gray sky and I don't think any of my photos came out with anything identifiable.

Finally got power back, didn't see the tornado from the cell that rode up Arlington to east side of the airport but got a lot of hail damage. What a rough afternoon for the metroplex. April sure came in like a lion, the images from the local news look crazy. I hope no fatalities comes out of this.
