Major tornado outbreak verified. Strong to violent tornadoes possible well into the overnight hours so now we enter that special time that is uncommon for tornado outbreaks to "perform" but tonight is an exception. The squall line forming to the south even has a bunch of rotation markers, could be interesting.

More than 100 tornado reports? Yup, major outbreak. And I'm afraid of what the morning will bring. Lots of reports of strong to violent cone/wedge tornadoes on two or three supercells that marched across Kansas tonight.

Ironic thing is that not much happened in Nebraska or Oklahoma, which I expected would be the bull's eye earlier today.

Incredible...if that supercell keeps going like that, it very well may end up putting down tornadoes in 3 different states!

Wow...forget Friday the 13th.

April 14th has quite a notorious history - including today's tornado outbreak:

From DanSatterfield: @wildweatherdan: "‎100 years ago at this moment the Titanic Sank...and 147 years ago at this moment Abraham Lincoln was being carried across E street from Ford's theatre."

The Cherokee Supercell is just moving into view of the Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, MO radar. If it continues on it's current track, in a few hours, guess where it'll potentially visit? Yet another NWS office.

Depending on how severe the damage is, if that did indeed happen, it could be the third infamou "Tri-State Tornado."

The 1925 version (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana) = deadliest tornado in U.S. history.

The 1947 version (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas) = 181 fatalities.
