@BigJoeBastardi: Worst possible scenario is for this to deepen and move slowly, coming in N of mouth of Miss as cat 2 or 3. Horrible track for New Orleans

@BigJoeBastardi: In fact the slow moving, intensifying hurricane this close will be piling water back west into Lakes Bourne and Ponchartrain next 3 days

@BigJoeBastardi: There is no change in my idea, except to say the increased threat to se louisiana is disturbing I dont believe tracks off to ne or e

@BigJoeBastardi: Guess what.We do have a slow moving pain in the neck storm in the gulf in June as per the pattern ideas from preseason.End game even tougher

Still don't know why you guys quote him. He is wrong as often as he's right (if not wrong more than right). And he has no credentials for making tropical forecasts. I prefer the pro mets on here.

Sigh.....JB these days, don't read him anymore because he is a sensationalist and follows the models or he is talking about football.

Perhaps I'm just seeing things (or want to see things) but it seems like a westward wobble the last several frames. Of course, that could just be the convection firing up, but I guess we'll know more tomorrow!

No, I see it too. It's making the turn since the ULL is finally moving westward or southwestward. But the COC is consolidating north of the official track so that it could wind up tracking westward not too far south of the coast. This would cause some pretty intense TS conditions all the way from Alabama to Texas and could cause an even farther north landfall when it gets to Texas.

I agree with your point. This site shouldn't be for advertising. Though I understand that many people don't know much about his history and thus wouldn't understand why there are problems with quoting him.

I'm not a fan of his sensationalism at times; however I still respect him as a Pro Met; as I do all Pro Mets.

He's not a pro-met IMO. He's more like a figure trying to become popular.

He does have a degree tho.

Looks like explosive convection development going on tonight, and that the movement from earlier has once again stalled based on satellite. Seems the center is starting to get pulled back closer to the convection now.

But once again, to be fair to the people on here, especially newbies who don't know who he is, he's not a storm2k pro met.

Back on topic (please no more JB), there has been a noticeable shift to the north and this will have to influence the future track forecasts.

I was out for a while but did I read the NHC right in the last update and they are projecting this to become a hurricane?

It looks to me that Debby is expanding in size as the center appears to be stalled.

It does look like it's expanding in size now. Where it's moving is really hard to determine without visible satellite, but it looks like it did drift northward somewhat over the last few hours.

The JB quotes posted were from Twitter, not his paid site, and they are fine. And yes, he is a pro met. While one is certainly free to disagree, no bashing is allowed.
