Looking at visible, it sure looks like Debbie is getting the convection to wrap around. Winds have really picked up here west central fl north of tampa.

Pressure has dropped 3 mb in the past 3 hours with Debby, now at 991 mb. She's really fighting out there maintaining and holding her own.

Three Bay Area bridges are now at least partially closed. The Gandy is fully open, Howard Franklin partially open, Courtney Campbell has just closed, and the Skyway will remain closed through at least tomorrow afternoon.

GFDL also westbound, joining NOGAPS and some of the GFS ensembles. CMC and HWRF now kill it over western Florida, otherwise, they are also heading westbound at the second half of their forecasts. Big model shifts may be present for the 0z models.

My amateur thoughts.

Recon missed the center (it was still windy at the lowest pressure), hence they extrapolated.

From earlier today - I posted comment that "South" was only direction not mentioned in any Model /NHC discussions. No steering can sometimes lead to south move - and warmer waters
This storm wants no ropes -no rules.. it seams

Disclaimer: Not official statemets - based on Sat pic observations only

First I had heard that Debby would become a hurricane.

Well if the pressure went down to 991mb then this C-Man Tower south of Appalachicola is indicating that Debby has evidently moved westward because it had a decent rise in pressure in the last hour........

Strange looking pieces energy coming in on shore - Englewood/Venice coast
Very strong gusts - 60+ MPH (guessing) Sustained getting higher as well. (power just off - on again)
Banding shows up here -and is that a "Tail" forming N. of Yucatan?
