New design at NWS

I love it! I've been using the preview for weeks already.


I noticed something new on my local WFO's page too.





I've never seen any WFO (aside from San Juan, of course) put out dual Graphicasts in English and Spanish. I wonder if this is going to be a regular thing? Say what you want about the politics of language, but the ultimate goal is always to get important information out to more people and more quickly.

I can't find any of the old stuff on the new NOAA site. Does anyone know where to get the monthly summaries, F3 data, record event reporter, and NOW data for each city (searching NOW brings up something differnt now)?

I also like the new look. However, the mobile site radar for the new NWS pages is awful. They've tried to sync it up with Google and it is hard to view and even harder to manipulate.

Its an irritating change, don't see any useful changes to what I use on there and the new look doesn't fit with the rest of the NOAA pages suite. As far as products on the front page, the main graphic:



is the same as one of the images on the SPC page but where is this format of the same thing?:



Its easier to view overall without the county boarders and smaller. If this graphic is completely gone, then the net result is negative because I could have seen the other product on the SPC page if I wanted. It was also a bit more difficult to get to http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/full.php for the full national composite image.

The individual WFO pages haven't changed, so as always you should be able to get to local climate data by going to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=xxx, where xxx is the abbreviation of your desired local office (ie TAE for Tallahassee, FL).

As you are aware of, the NWS changed there webpage.

Do you like the old or new better?

I prefer the old.

Actually, I like it better. It looks fresher and more welcoming to the regular citizens. It's brighter. The older site looked a little more intimidating I think.

The AFDs still have alot of dead links highlighting the larger words.

I like the overall look, but I did not notice when I previewed it the addition of top general statement regarding other areas. That then forces any warnings, etc. locally down where you have to scroll to find them. That I wish would be moved and the warnings once again put towards the top of the page.
