We've had on and off sprinkles most of the day but nothing significant. On the bright side, it was just enough to keep me indoors to focus on some decluttering instead of playing in the dirt. I did notice the ant mounds already forming so I know what I'll be doing when this is over.

SPC has a 5.6" bullseye over your area for the week through Friday. You may not have to do anything but watch the ant mounds wash away. Hopefully you get much needed rain, but no flooding rains. That is what all of us need.
Rains finally ended around 3pm here but like your area we didn't get anything significant in my area of town.

It has rained on and off for most of the day here in Houston. There aren't many areas of the metro area that have been spared. We haven't gotten over an inch here at the house yet, but some areas to our N got almost 3" with plenty of rain still showing on radar moving S towards us. Not sure it will last though with the loss of the heating of the day soon.

His latest:
Excessive rainfall continues to train across SE TX leading to flooding.

Radar shows another batch of very heavy rainfall developing in a lien from Victoria to Wharton and this line is moving slowly NE up the US 59 corridor. With grounds saturated from days of rainfall and excessive rainfall this morning flooding is likely.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches will be possible on top of what has already fallen and this will lead to the threat for significant street flooding and large rises on area creeks, bayous, and rivers.

Flooding is currently ongoing across the following counties: Waller, NW Harris, Matagorda, Jackson, Victoria, Wharton.
And from earlier:
Flash Flood Watch has been expanded to include all SE TX counties now until 700pm this evening.

Widespread clusters of very heavy rainfall (1-2.5 inches per hour) developing over a large part of SE TX. With grounds saturated, significant run-off is being generated. Storms will continue to develop and move very slowly across the area producing excessive rainfall and flooding.

Widespread 1-3 inch rainfall amounts are likely with isolated totals of 4-6 inches. Already this morning parts of Matagorda County have received upwards of 5-6 inches of rainfall. Radar is starting o show development filling in over Wharton, Fort Bend, Austin, Waller, and western Harris Counties.

Another 3" of rain again today and the same expected for tomorrow. This is the second time I've had to empty water from the fish pond and pool to stop them from overflowing. For the first time in days it's actually not raining outside right now but the winds have definetely picked up.

Langham Creek at West Little York very close to bankfull, more rain coming in. Bear Creek subdivision close to having water in homes in lowest areas. This next line of storms will either make us or break us. Mayde Creek out of banks at Saums. Cars flooded in Copperfield. What a change from last year.

Fortunately it appears that the rain is coming to an end in the W and NW parts of Harris County. Many creeks in the area are out of their banks or close to it with flooding ongoing in several areas. I have heard reports of water in some homes. In Cypress at Huffmeister and Cypress Rosehill Rd. my son has had 9.25" of rain today and 4.25" yesterday for 13" in the last 36 hours.  Fortunately he is not flooded(yet) but much of the area around him is with both Cypress Creek and Little Cypress Creek out of banks. Here at the house in Spring Branch I've had a measly 3.23" today.
Obviously Jennifer, Brian still has possession of the Bear Creek dome. :cheesy: Praying that you guys have no flooding.

I am beginning to wonder if there is an end in sight. Every day, the NWS forecast for the next day goes up. A few days ago, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, were at 50%. Then on Wednesday, Thursday goes up to 80% and Friday and Saturday were at 50%. This afternoon, Friday goes from 50% to 80% and Saturday up to 60%, which will probably be upped to 80% tomorrow. I guess with the pattern not really budging, the 24 hour forecasts are much more accurate. Wow @ all the rain lately! We are completely soaked! Fortunately, I don't think any homes have flooded out here yet, but it won't take too much more. Pine Island Bayou is rising and the golf course is flooding... it will only rise more with each bit of rain here and north of here.

Well that Bear Creek dome broke here in League City :D

Still very light considering the 10.82" 12 total along the Harris-Waller County line. Picked up 1.31" today.

We've had over 5" of rain again today. The drainage canal near my house had water rushing into it so fast from every direction that it was shooting large waves over it's concrete banks.

We also had some pretty severe straight line winds that took my deck canopy, carried it about 30' and dropped it into the swimming pool. It's all in one piece, just not where it belongs.

It apparently moved or shifted my metal roofing as well because we now have water coming in between the wall studs on one interior wall and one doorway.

SG, I just thought the same thing when I looked at the forecast map and saw they raised the chances of rain again.

Now what really ticks me off is that I've lived in this area for 50 years and Cajuns have better driving skills in water than they do on dry flat ground, but these out of towners cannot handle water. I had one run me off the road today trying to avoid a puddle in his inside lane. He never even looked to see if anyone was in the other lane. Thank God there was a parking lot on my right because that's where I landed safe and sound to avoid him hitting me with my 3 year old granson in the back seat. They also don't know to slow down when approaching an overpass because water runs downhill and often accumulates at the base of the bridges which will cause you to hydroplane in a heartbeat. In the last 4 days I've watched at least 7 people hydroplane and lose control of their vehicle. I keep my distance and have decided to start taking the back roads instead of the interstate with all the overpasses.

Okay, off to bed I go so that I can get up early and drain more water from the pool and fish pond. The canopy will have to stay put for now......in the pool.

High totals in the area this morning, on top of all the rain all week! There's a lot of flooding going on. Just when it looks like it might end later, radar fills in again. I've had a lot more thunder and lightning with the storms today... the house-shaking kind.
