Anything to be concerned about in the North Central/NW GOM?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Just a trough of low pressure with UL divergence helping with the convection.
Surface pressures if anything have gone up during the past 24 hrs in this area.

Looks like a low is trying to develop near the FLA/Bama coast. At the surface?

Just took a look at the pressures they are actually up a good bit over the last 24hrs.

Had this area being a little further offshore it might had been something to watch. It has a nice vorticity with an UL ridge right on top of it creating some very nice UL divergence.
Surface pressures have lower a couple of mb during the last 24 hrs but are still relatively high.

Yeah the area SW of New Orleans starting to catch my eye. I guess if was to develop, it start out as some sort of Hybird system.

also the area on the Miss/Ala. coast. you can see a nice little vortex on the radar if you uncheck the topo and counties.

I have been monitoring this mid -level trough in the north-central GOM for the past 36 hours. I will point out that the convection has persisted rather well and the area continues to drift slowly southwest. If this area is making an attempt to work down to a surface Low reflection, the process will be slow. However, if the convection continues to sustain iteslf, I think this system may have a chance to try to develop into something by the end of the weekend.

BTW, the OP or mods should edit this thread title to the North Central GOM or possibly Northwest GOM given its current location.
