Check it out- the latest Reynolds SST anomaly map for the ATL shows the MDR running above normal to 1C in some places with at least .5 C across almost the entire MDR:

If I recall correctly, a lot of the "not very active season" thoughts were due to a supposed cooler than normal MDR.
