yep, I think thats the one thing I would add to your analysis above. A serious issue this thing has been dealing with today is the rapid expansion of the circulation in an area contained in almost all directions by land. This has allowed the storm to ingest a huge amount of dry air today and has also made it very difficult and time consuming to mix out. Ernesto may never fully recover to its more traditional appearance and if it does actually strengthen to a hurricane, I wonder just how unconventional its appearance will be for such a strength.
