For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. A non-tropical gale low centered about 250 miles east southeast of Midway atoll, or about 950 miles west northwest of Lihue hi, is moving slowly northward. Environmental conditions are not conducive for tropical cyclone development within this area, and there is a low chance, near 0 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Even though this system does not have tropical characteristics, it has a large area of showers and thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall which will be affecting portions of the northwest Hawaiian islands tonight and Monday.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Tuesday evening.

Environmental conditions are not conducive for tropical cyclone development within this area, and there is a low chance, near 0 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Even though this system does not have tropical characteristics, it has a large area of showers and thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall which will be affecting portions of the northwest Hawaiian islands, including Midway atoll, during the next 24 hours.
