WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL
900 PM EDT THU SEP 4 2003

CURRENTLY: MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES EXTEND ACROSS THE REGION WITH
SCATTERED AREAS OF LIGHT RAIN FROM NEAR AVON PARK TO 10 MILES WEST OF
VENICE. MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 15 MPH.

OVERNIGHT...TD 12 WAS LOCATED ABOUT 215 MILES WEST OF TAMPA AND
WAS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST NORTHEAST. BANDS OF SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL REDEVELOP EAST OF THE TROPICAL
DEPRESSION OVER THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO AND WILL MOVE LOCALLY
ONSHORE THROUGH THE NIGHT. FLOOD WATCH REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON. HEAVIEST RAIN WILL OCCUR ALONG THE COAST
OVERNIGHT...MAINLY FROM VENICE TO BAYPORT...WHERE LOCALLY 2 TO 4
INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE. SHOWERS WILL WEAKEN AS THEY MOVE INLAND
WITH RAINFALL GENERALLY LESS THAN A HALF INCH OVER THE INTERIOR.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN AREAL COVERAGE
AND INTENSITY ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FRIDAY
MORNING AND SHOULD CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY.

WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF TD 12 AND ANY FLARE UP OF
CONVECTION THROUGH THE NIGHT. SEE THE LATEST STATEMENTS FROM THE
NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER REGARDING TD 12...AND HURRICANE LOCAL
STATEMENTS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RUSKIN.

Aqua, thanks. Report makes sense. TD 12 is looking pretty scraggly tonight. We'll see if it flairs up before dawn.

I think it may still flare up... It's supposed to according to the forecasts... so let's see if it does...
