Henri's strength.....

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Fri Sep 05, 2003 8:15 am

Well.. I awaken and there's a 45 mph tropical storm.. My question is this.. How much more will it strengthen in the 105 miles it has to travel? I personally think it'll get to 50-55 mph then stop. But stranger things have happened...

Thoughts welcomed...

I think Henri's top winds will peak in the 50 to 55 MPH range too.

50-55 mph sounds like a good estimate at landfall.... But the big story is heavy rain!!! Many homes north of Tampa remain under water and this rain will not help one bit!!!

The convection associated with Tropical Storm Henri in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico has impressively blown up in the last couple of hours.

I am getting interested in the potential of Tropical Storm Henri to do something in the Atlantic after its very slow progress across north-central Florida. A frontal system has stalled out across the southeastern United States and again there has been mention of a high building in after Hurricane Fabian passes Bermuda.

There is also a high situated over the northern United States that has its northeast flow on the eastern side that is keeping Henri at bay.

I think it has a good chance to make it to 70mph before landfall .
