Well it's about time. If that's not bad data at least Issac will have the H designation. Not gonna really change anything else about what happens though IMO....

Looks like either a second vortex or dry air to me.

The NOAA dropsonde should finally make it officially Hurricane Isaac at the 11:00 am advisory.

Could they be going to upgrade it in the next advisery whit that wind it is a hurricane. My question is is the wind speed going to take a run at catching up with the pressure and also what mph could he get up to before land fall. because accorning to the timming of him becomming a hurricane they perdicted it later today not this early in the morning.

Without a doubt we have Hurricane Isaac right now.

The image above shows huge amounts of dry air entering the NW side again.

WX57's Vertical Instability graph must have been the rule. A VI cap is probably the culprit along with dry air.

Catch up!

Don't think Isaac is done with his "twists and turns"...

@BigJoeBastardi

That wind at flight level is going to appear at the surface as storm tightens to coast Think this goes in at 965 or lower

Over 7,000 posts discussing Isaac's projected moves by some of the best and he's still baffling many. Thanks to all of the pro's and amateurs alike who have contributed to this board. We all learn so much.

A buoy 95 miles north of the center (based on radar) had sustained winds at 68MPH.A buoy to the west by 100 miles had sustained at 51MPH. Large wind field even with out a lot of rain bands.

Can someone please explain to me how Isaac won't make landfall until tomorrow? I'm very confused since the center is very close to Louisiana.

I hope the recon data keeps coming out. Seems to almost always have a data disruption right after something liek this happens. Almost because we want more data now, it find a way to break... LOL. Looks to be developing an eyewall, it needs to get onshore or sit and upwell the shelf water...
