Actually, the water is a few feet deep in a large area where the water from the lake is blowing over the seawall, from the rise in water level of the lake and the wind. The lake has not risen above the top of the seawall.

Can you put your location in your profile, I can't remember. It will show up next to your name each post. :)

Sorry. I'm in the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood of New Orleans, slightly east of due north from the French Quarter, roughly 3/4s of the way from the River to the Lake. Hope that helps.

Will be interesting to see if the eye feature starts to transition toward a more westerly direction like some of the models have shown.

Pretty big move west. Not a perfect location, but closest wind shift - found .1 second further south and .11 seconds west.

That's what I was trying to convey. Water level of Lake not high enough to overtop seawall yet, but wave heights putting a lot of water over it.

Local TV met just saying a lot more water will be pushing into Lake Pontchartrain through tomorrow.

CYCLONE MIKE wrote:Looking at wv loops you can see the high over the central US building east. Just a matter of time before Isaac should start bumping up against this and either stall again or start drifting back towards the west. TWC RPM model radar shows this happening and moving back west later this evening and making landfall around GrandIsle around 5 tomorrow morning then being just around Houma about 1 in the afternoon.

because of the tilt of the front, and the angle of the earth at this latitude, would it be possible to ride it east?

Looking at the radar, Isaac is not that filled in...a lot of dry slots.

Appears very unlikely IMO, RECON confirms steady NW or even perhaps NNW motion. I am fairly confident this motion will bring the storm inland in about 2 hours.

Just got off the beach by the Gulf and winds are definitely starting to pick up. Getting interesting out there!

Quite low for a Cat 1 in the Gulf, but I have seen lower...Lili was 963.

To me it hints of going NNW then NW, probably just wobbling along at a NW direction.. my untrained opinion only.
