I do not think it will and my reasoning is frictional land mass interaction.I saw Dennis do the same thing back years ago and bumped off the boot of LA to get locked up in Mobile Bay and died there.A stronger steering currents and push yes I could see it get pushed W but Isaac is what 12 hours from his last place of landfall. Now when Isaac gets by Lake Pontchatrain could he get kick W with a nudge could happen? or he does another kick right?

That hot tower is going to the stratosphere.

They'll write this up on the TRMM and CIMSS blogs for sure.

Local NOLA met on TV just made that same observation (very gloomily) about ten minutes ago.

We're lucky the winds haven't caught up to the pressure yet. Otherwise we'd be dealing with one strong hurricane here. A pressure this low rivals a high end category 2 or low category 3 hurricane. And it STILL continues to explode and strengthen according to satellite.

Looking like it moved west?

Why do you keep pushing the west bit? There has not been any west motion for the last several hours, maybe not today at all, yet you continue to ask if it's going west? I don't understand why.

Can you imagine if this thing had just one more day over the Gulf?

That is an incredible satellite image. It looks like they dropped a nuclear bomb right smack in the middle of Isaac.

No, not until the center of that circulation is inland. Since it's moving NW or NNW it would be above the Delta, left side, I assume.

Define "land" :). Looks like southwest pass on the radar loop. That's not really land, with or with out a storm in the gulf

I am really not seeing any west turn. I estimate landfall somewhere east of Houma and west of the delta, wherever they decide land is.
