Starting to feel like FALL!

#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Fri Sep 05, 2003 8:56 pm

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
814 PM CDT FRI SEP 5 2003

WE ACTUALLY HAVE POST FRONTAL WEAK COLD AIR ADVECTION OVER THE AREA
TONIGHT. TO ADD TO THIS TREAT...WE WERE ABLE TO SLIP THE FORT POLK
RADAR INTO CLEAR AIR MODE EARLY THIS EVENING. CIRRUS TUFTS RAPIDLY
DECREASED TO NEARLY CLEAR CONDITIONS. DEW POINTS ALREADY IN THE
60S...MOST REFRESHING...SHOULD ALLOW TEMPS TO DROP UNDER NEARLY
IDEAL RADIATIONAL COOLING CONDITIONS.

MESOETA LOOKS GOOD ON MORNING SURFACE TEMPS NEARLY 15 DEGREES COOLER
THAN NORMAL FOR THE NORTHERN ZONES...10 DEGREES BELOW NORMS FOR THE
SOUTHERN ZONES. WILL UPDATE AND BOLDLY GO FOR NEAR RECORD LOWS
TONIGHT FOR ALL EXECPT LFT WHERE WINDS WILL PERSIST. A COLD FRONT
THIS TIME OF YEAR IS SO RARE NEAR THE GULF COAST THAT WE ALMOST
AUTOMATICALLY FIND OURSELVES CHALLENGING RECORD LOWS. WILL ADD
PLEASANTLY COOL TO THE ZONES TONIGHT.

Hard to believe that the low for Alexandria, LA tonight is 57! :o
I'm looking forward to waking up to a cool 62 tomorrow morning.

I remember those early September morning's in the northeast. Some years there is one more brief warm up before those leaves start falling off the trees and it get downright crisp. :o :)

Aw come on Marshall........ever play golf in the snow??? It's a blast! Use a *hunter orange* ball and metal spikes on your shoes "LOL!"

Seriously, yes indeedy, fall "is" here for us too, night time temps are dropping into the lower 40's, forecast calls for night time temps to dip into the "30's" by Tues, Weds of next week, I "CAN'T" wait.....we've had a very unusual "hot" summer up here, well, for ME it was "HOT"....temps hoovering around 99-100°....us snowmen can't take temps like that!

Weatherbug shows that we got down to 61 degrees last night! That's pretty much unheard of for early September. The great news is that after a return to the muggies next week another strong front is forecasted to move through. Bring it on!

It has been absolutely gorgeous here for about a week now! I love the changing of the seasons! I am not really a fan of snow, and I wish I could go somewhere warm for the winter (after Christmas, that is!), but I wouldn't give up the changeover to fall for anything! The leaves on the trees here are beginning to look a little yellow, which may also be due to the fact that we are in a drought(!), but it is definitely enough to get me pumped for fall!

The temp here is currently 81°F with no heat index, and there isn't a cloud in the sky!

fall like already in michigan

#17 Postby Wxman52 » Sat Sep 06, 2003 6:17 pm

We had low 40's last two mornings here in Mid Michigan with some isolated upper 30's It was 30 degreese in some parts of norther michigan.
The only thing, here in mid michigan with it being so dry last 3 weeks the color what is turning leaves is really dull, not bright color this year looks like.

It's early fall here in northern VA

#18 Postby Anonymous » Sat Sep 06, 2003 10:37 pm

Yeah we only topped out in the low 70s today and yesterday!!!

Let me tell you something: There is a real difference between a dewpoint of 80 degrees and one of 52 degrees!!! We have been enjoying all this scrumptious, cool dry air that you can actually breathe!!! It's nice not to be breathing socks for once!!! It cooled down to 51 degrees last night! We're shooting for 47 tonight!!! I will actually need my blanket tonight!!!

Bring Fall ON!!!!!

And then bring on that SNOW!!!!!

Who needs plows? I'll shovel all the snow with my construction-grade, square-edged digging shovel!!!! Plows use up too much gasoline!! I enjoy shoveling the snow and I never get tired.

You should come up here and shovel my driveway! Actually, I'm not going to shovel this year, I'm hiring a plow...unless Jeb wants to come up
