I wouldn't sweat it. Pretty much, if it doesn't hit in the Caribbean or CONUS, it's a "fish storm." That's no disrespect to any other ocean nations, just an acknowledgment that that vast majority of posters here are from Caribbean or US.

If people get offended by that, um, er...well that's how it goes. It's the Internet. People take offense at the drop of a hat.

Who are you anyway? And Storm2k does not allow things like that to take place - just letting you know.

Please, my intention wasn't to create any controversy, I only called for attention that maybe some people should not call "fishstorm" to whatever curve to mid-Atlantic, there are some islands here and there, Bermuda, Azores, etc.
Peace for all .. and let's stop this off-topic now!

Back to Nadine - she's getting pretty organized now, a brief eye-like feature was even apparent a while ago.

I'm not so sure that that was an eyelike feature, as much as it was just a warm spot in the convection. Convection has weakening a bit over the western side, and it looks like the center is near the western edge of the deep convection that is now building back. Near about 20.4N and 49.7W, which is a tad NW of the 00Z best track. Of course, it is very hard to find the center at night, especially without any fresh microwave images! I really wish we could get a bird up that would solve the lack of microwave images problem!

Looks great, altough a bit asymmetric. But certainly tomorrow at this intensifying rate we have the Hurricane Nadine.

Agree with you all, a very good looking storm, if it manages to take advantage of the good conditions for the next 36-48 hours, Nadine could be the 2nd major. Not an official forecast.

NADINE HAS BEEN STRENGTHENING OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS AT JUST BELOW
THE RATE OF RAPID INTENSIFICATION.
THE CYCLONE POSSESSES AN
IMPRESSIVE OUTFLOW REGIME THAT SHOULD CONTINUE TO EXPAND AS NADINE
MOVES BETWEEN A LARGE UPPER-LEVEL LOW TO ITS NORTHEAST AND A
SMALLER LOW TO ITS WEST. THE COMBINATION OF A FAVORABLE OUTFLOW
PATTERN AND RELATIVELY LOW VERTICAL WIND SHEAR SHOULD ALLOW FOR
SOME ADDITIONAL INTENSIFICATION TO OCCUR FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR
SO.

I got a chuckle out of this. Is Stewart lurking around here somewhere?

I noticed that they say that conditions are going to be unfavorable in 24 hours yet 12 hours ago, they said the environment will be bad in 72 hours.

Otherwise Nadine is an impressive storm and might actually be a hurricane in the MDR.

So I am noticing a significant decrease in southerly shear and a huge low to the north-east of the storm. Is it possible that this low helps Nadine vent a little? I'm thinking like a high efficiency exhaust-pipe. I forgot what storm it was in the past, but I remember a low being the perfect distance away and instead of shearing and weakening, the storm used it to it's advantage. I think if the shear lets up more while Nadine is at this low of a latitude, we could see a quickly strengthening hurricane. Thoughts?

I know Nadina is fun and all, but Typhoon Sanba in the westpac might be the most rapidly strengthening storm since Wilma. Truly awesome to see it bottoming out as we speak.
