Is peak day of the season and that is why is a good time to create this poll thread as it will be interesting to see what the members think about how will the rest of the 2012 North Atlantic season will be in terms of how many more named storms will form. The poll will close on September 20th at the time this thread was made. (4:24 PM EDT) If anyone wants to add a commentary to say why you voted the way you did you can do that.
I say four more named storms will form before November 30th as El Nino albeit weak will slow things down.
How many named storms will form during the rest of season?

I said 4 putting us at 17 for the year but El Nino better come soon or I could definitely see the third straight year with 19.

This season has already had 13 storms in its first half and there are already signs of development with 91L. While I don't think the second half of the season will be as busy as the first in tern of named storms, I still think we could see maybe 8 more storms before the end of the season. We still have over half of September and all of October to come.

I say 5 more named storms only because we are just at the peak of the season and still have just a little over two and a half months to go. Even though it could quiet down some compared to the first half of the season I think we could get around 5 more named storm in with at least 2 of them becoming hurricanes and at least 1 major hurricane.

Statistically speaking, the average season since 1995 has had 6 storms from now to the end of the season. Even with removing outliers like 2005 and 1997, it remains 6. Seeing as there is a chance for El Nino, I opted for 5, which would bring the total up to 19 for the third straight season.

Poll is closed. The option of four more named storms was the winner with the most votes but the voting was close. Let's see in real time how many more storms form before November 30th.
