Looks like some kind of test. There's nothing there.

I heard the local weatherman talk about a disturbance that might form in that area later this week. Could this be it??

No, there is nothing there now, nothing where the invest had it 24 hrs ago (20N/66W) and no model is indicating any development in the region.

Now that brings the term "phantom storm" to a whole new level.

Maybe the testing has something to do with setting up a GOES-14 floater? Perhaps they need an active invest to do that?

Yeah it must have something to do with GOES-14.

When I saw Invest.95L coming up in the TCWEB directory, I thought it was a mistake. But when NRL mentioned it and ssd.noaa.gov put a floater on it, I decided to post about it.

Certainly is must be some test. Nevertheless it is worthwhile to see that some computer models are capable to generate something from nothing. No news for a lot of people around here, but some other can learn ...

No mention on 8 PM TWO so I also think is a test. But my question is why they didn't use the al80-89 numbers that are used for doing tests?

When one looks at the map, it shows an invest. That is quite misleading if this is some kind of test. I don't understand. 8-) 8-)

That should be an 80s number if they are testing.

Unless they needed an actual invest tag to test. There might be some systems that don't fully come online with 80s tests, since they are only tests (I know, lacks common sense, but it is the gov't afterall!).
