That is a scary sight for sure.

I want to say while it is relatively slow on the boards that this site saved me from staying. I was long gone before the surge started coming in and am so thankful for all the knowledge that is shared here.

Appears Sandy has begun her northward motion right in cue.

That makes all of us here very happy. Hopefully some people browsing in here will do the same for Sandy. This is an especially serious situation for people living near the ocean from Delaware to Cape Cod. I am very worried about the storm surge problem because people in that area have never seen a storm surge / wave battering like this storm is going to produce.

Here is my weekly prediction in Talkin' Tropics. Heavy emphasis in it with what I think Sandy will do.

My posts should NEVER, EVER, EVER be construed as an official forecast as I know virtually nada respecting the finer points of meteorology. Consequently, my posts are obviously NOT endorsed by any professional institution or the good folks at storm2k.org. For official information please refer to the weather gurus at the NHC and NWS.

I hope this isn't the winds finally making it to the surface, this isn't what the northeast and mid atlantic coasts need because if these arent contaminated they might have to upgrade to 85mph at 5am

Latest surface analysis and satellite images. Sandy still looks very healthy.

Thoughts/timeline on Sandy continuing to strengthen as a warm-core system before converting? (likely / some / unlikely) The last recon VDM aircraft still indicated a warm core at the "center."
THX for any info!
