The highest I can find is Brooklyn with sustained at 28 mph. The highest gust I can find is Jersey City with a 44 mph gust. Can you link or give a screen shot of these supposed widespread sustained 50 mph winds in NYC?

you obviously dont know how to navigate the weather stations...maybe you should go to the buoy site and look those up on the coast...and I dont think I said widespread either....

Based on satellite and radar imagery, looks like land fall will actually be in southern N.J.

If Sandy is moving faster (28 mph) as she comes in, is there a chance she will keep her forward moving speed and keep moving faster out (of any ground covered)? Thank you and great job, Storm2K.org.

Check the exaggeration. Important? Yes. Just as important as humans? No way.

Surge is now at a level where high tide will take the sea over the flood gate at 10 feet, assuming it doesn't fall back below this level before 8pm.

Of course not, because as the NHC and others have said for days, once the system becomes extra-tropical the wind field will expand, but at least as far as the lowest SLP that will be wherever it makes landfall in the next few hours...
