I'm glad Craig Fugate is heading FEMA these days. He was great in Florida during the storms of 04-05.

Norcross just said a foot to go at the battery to reach the 1821 record? I thought it was there now

I have a feeling that was taped a while ago, they mentioned it is getting ready to break the record.

No subways running. But it will take a few days to take out the water from the tunnels.

I heard on MSNBC this morning that after they take the water out it is still going to be a while for the subway to run because of the salt in the water.

Its just so cool to see a system actually change into a ET system whilst being this strong and with such good radar imagery to look at.

Just got to hope the fallout of this system isn't too bad and things get better quickly.

That's nearly a foot in 20mins, or 3' per hour.

Does anyone have a live update on the surge at Westport, CT? I would like to know how large the surge is along the CT shoreline from Stamford to Bridgeport...thanks.

Waves crashing at Jim Cantore's feet over the seawall at the Battery. He says it was somewhat higher during Irene. Maybe his location has a time delay. He might be surprised shortly.
