Latest from my friend Lucy:

I'm running around. In jersey city now where Hudson River is pouring into downtown. Breached the border

And there is an idiot who commented that it was most over hyped storm in history with "3 inches of flooding and a swaying crane".

What is this based upon if the official graphs read 13.03 ft of surge (actual tide level + storm tide)?

They may be reporting surge and not total water level.

You can see it's leveling off, finally.

It seems that Sandy Hook station has gone out of power... There hasn't been any updated observation since half an hour ago.

We are about to hit peak storm surge.

Meanwhile, Kings Point tide looks to probably go up to 15+ feet.

Listening to the weather Channel Live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... MU2qwCVag#!

Interviewing someone in NY, very calm, not reporting any issues other than minor flooding. Could be clueless, could be some guy with a phone on a couch somewhere. :)

Except we already beat the all-time record at the Battery which dates to 1821. So you still believe the surge will reach the 13-14 ft at Bridgeport due to the larger volume of water observed at the Battery?

High tide not til 11:59 PM at Bridgeport!

Yes. JCP&L and PSEG are the two largest (note: PSEG serves a very densely populated area). There's also Orange Rockland Electric (relatively minor) and Atlantic City Electric.
