Re: Expert forecasts for 2013 North Atlantic hurricane season

Was there another website that released numbers by the name of HurricaneAlley? I don't know much about them but I think something named that did release forecast numbers.

Well, I haven't seen a forecast by them in the past but if they do a forecast for the 2013 season,it will be added to the list at first post. What I have seen in that site is landfall probabilities. http://www.hurricanealley.net/

The Weather Channel (TWC) is not on the first post list as they dont do season forecasts because what they do is to report what CSU/NOAA forecast.

I'm not quite sure that's accurate. The Weather Channel made their own numbers in 2012.

Some people have what it says posted around the internet.

* Be ready for hurricanes to threaten first the Gulf and Atlantic coasts in June and then primarily the Southeast, especially Florida, through the remainder of the hurricane season.

Overall predictions really don't matter. All it takes is one storm to kill or do massive damage. 1930 only had 3 storms but Dominican Republic was blasted by a very strong Cat. 4 that killed up to 8000. For a more recent year 1983 had Alicia which gave Galveston and Houston a fierce blow or 1992 with only 7 storms and Hurricane Andrew. No matter how active or inactive, coastal residents need to be prepared regardless.

These people really need to stop with these absurd predictions... No science what so over behind. At the very least florida sees a threat in any given season.
