It looks like today we do have some pretty decent consensus. A storm will likely dig from the Pac NW down the great basin to the Tx/NM border. Most models track the surface low across the Red River vicinity and sends it into Arkansas. They confine the snow mostly in the Panhandle across central Oklahoma into Kansas/Missouri.

Yup, but do we believe them is the question? I suspect changes will come, and it's not just wishful thinking. Definitely think it's still a little slow with cold, but we'll see what happens.

As always the case, if the track changes just a little...watch out!

Of course! I was just relieved we have some agreement, no more 1000 mile spread between them. We've at least zoned in that it's going to dig and eject negatively somewhere in Texas.

OK so 1/3rd of our fans are pointed North (-36C is inching closer), 1/3 SE , and 1/3 pointed E and a little tiny bit South (I gotta get a few more co-workers in on this ).

Will turn some SE now though because we just sent some down two days ago and it should be arriving in Texas soon (if it hasn't already but will give it a bit of a boost).

The upper low ejected very quickly on this run of the GFS. All it takes is for the GFS to be too slow on the Arctic front and too fast on the upper low ejection to make a world of difference in the track. As this is still 6-7 days out, there will most likely be plenty of changes still. It's not hard to imagine at least one, if not both of the aforementioned scenarios will happen and the track of the low ends up farther south.

LOLOLOL I'm guessing you missed my summer posts (I REALLY REALLY dislike high temps with humidity).

You are welcome up here however Thundersleetdreams......we have a nice hot mineral pool OUTSIDE at our Mineral Spa that you might find interesting (however I do warn all hot and sweaty Texans that Banff and Jasper is much more interesting). We are part of the Great Plains so not a whole lot of difference in views here (except that we do have lots of s*n*o*w). Polar Bears and their master Krampus are also due to come knocking on our doors very soon as well.

I do want to see your State just at more Canadian like temps (ie 60 to 75 degrees so will have to plan my trip there carefully).

Man, the wind outside is wicked! Doghouse in the backyard blew to the back of the fence, and my neighbor's tree looks like it's about to snap in half.

You can hear the wind just howling off the radio/tv towers. I can only imagine how cold it's going to feel in the morning!

Texas winters would suit you... 65-70 one week... 25-30 the next... However my area of the state isn't flat and treeless... It's wooded with Pine

Then you will have to head up here and head a little further North to Saskatchewan's playground: Prince Albert National Park (just like your home but with lots more trees, timber wolves, bears, elk, moose etc). I'm sure it will keep you just as amused as I would be in a city with how many millions of people???????

oh and lots of snow.....a snowmobile, snowshoes, cross country skies, or dog teams are the best forms of transportation there.

It is ridiculous out there, it feels like a super-cell is about to come through with those gusts but one isn't. The roof sounds like it's shaking at the stronger gusts and the decorations are flying, scary. I think SasketchewanScreamer must have them fans on super turbo drive or something...

You really should. I lived up in Inuvik from October to March. The Northern lights are amazing and when you are that close to them a whistle truly seems to make them dance. A fellow that tested one of the first snowmobiles made showed me that.

Loving it right now..got the screen door open and enjoying the free Air Conditioning.. Dropped 8 degrees inside since line of storms flew by 2 hours ago.
