I've been out of it all week with a nasty infection, so I am completely out of the loop. I guess I need to start checking the models and see what the heck is going on.

In essence, iorange55, all of the non-American operational/ensemble model runs over the last day or two are suggesting that winter isn't over for Texas.

This just in ... within the last hour local residents have noted an excessive amount of road traffic into and out of the Portastorm Weather Center in scenic southwest Travis County. Our Storm2K correspondent in Austin, upon driving over there, noticed several trucks unloading large shipments of Grey Goose. This same enterprising young correspondent took a photo of a hand-written sign quickly placed in the weathered front door of the PWC.

12z GFS ensembles are abandoning the OP and siding to the Euro ensembles. Could be a fascinating opening to the work-week for southern plainers. Induce a coastal low and it's game on.

To many times this winter I have seen chat of cold and snow and it bust. 
Is this time around any different? Are confidence levels growing? When should I start really getting excited? (I already am....)
Not blaming anyone, I watch the models and hope for real winter just like everyone else.
Just had my heart broken to many times of late it seems.
