Just 4 more days to March and we can put all this talk of winter behind us (except for all the snow to our north and Euro forecast of cold air moving down...).

THERE IS SOME CONCERN AS TO HOW FAR SOUTH THE PRECIP WILL PERSIST
AS THE UPPER LOW MOVES NORTHEAST THROUGH TONIGHT. IT APPEARS THAT
SOME FRONTOGENETIC FORCING WILL PERSIST ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE
LOW AS IT CROSSES NORTH TEXAS THROUGH LATE TONIGHT. MODEL GUIDANCE
DOESNT SUGGEST THAT THIS WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO PRODUCE HEAVY
AMOUNTS OF PRECIPITATION BUT OFTEN TIMES THAT GUIDANCE CAN
SIGNIFICANTLY UNDER ESTIMATE THIS SMALLER SCALE FORCING. THERMAL
PROFILES ARE SUFFICIENTLY COLD TO SUPPORT SNOW...ALTHOUGH SURFACE
TEMPERATURES ARE SEVERAL DEGREES ABOVE FREEZING. THE CONCERN IS
THAT CONDITIONS COULD DETERIORATE EVEN IN LIGHT SNOW WITH 20 TO 30
MPH SUSTAINED WINDS. AT THIS TIME WILL HOLD OFF ON ANY WINTER WX
ADVISORY FOR THE NORTHWEST COUNTIES TO SEE IF BANDED PRECIPITATION
PERSISTS BEHIND THE LOW. IF IT APPEARS TO HOLD TOGETHER...THEN AN
ADVISORY WOULD LIKELY BE REQUIRED FOR A FEW COUNTIES TO THE
NORTHWEST OF THE METROPLEX. ACCUMULATIONS WOULD BE LIGHT...IF ANY
...GIVEN WARM SURFACE TEMPS BUT VISIBILITIES AND DRIVING
CONDITIONS COULD BE HAMPERED.

But go to far eastern Texas and Louisiana, they get the rain, thunderstorms, everything.
