You're welcome gsytch, and I hope things become better for you after such a difficult time.

Right now it's surprisingly chilly, 52 degrees with a windchill in the 40s here in the westernmost suburbs of Broward. This is about the coldest i also remember seeing it this late in the season at sundown! The high only hit 63 around these parts, with brisk winds. They're calling for lows in the low 40s inland and upper 40s by the beaches...and this is coming from the local 7 news out of Miami Beach...way far from here, so I wouldn't be surprised if we dipped to the upper 30s in the westernmost suburbs of the northern half of the Southeast FL area (Broward and Palm Beach).

Let's see how low it will go! Sweater weather for sure, and I get to experience it full blast tomorrow early AM as I head out at 7.

A surprisingly warm temp at 11pm - 50.4F - the winds have died down to 5mph or so, but if there is ANY wind it will prevent rapid cooling. Highest I saw today was 57.4F and that wind - geesh! I'm fully prepared for NJ now. The long range shows a front thru next week, but it will be a pacific/continental front so the lows may only hit 55-60F. Tonight there are freeze and frost warnings into the everglades! WOW! I missed the rains this weekend (mostly) so some much needed rainfall would be real nice. :cold:

Looks like the cold was just warm enough...the lowest I have is 40.5F which was 10 mins ago at 705am. 33F at Weeki Wachee for a new record. Lakeland FL 37F new record. Okeechobee Airport 37F new record. Incredible cold and DP mostly 20's. One more cold day before some warming sets in. :cold:

Currently 34.4 degrees at sunrise. This is also the lowest temp reading I have measured so far this morning. It is going to be a very close call as to whether or not I will hit the freeze mark in the next hour before we warm up. Freezing temps are occuring checking obs currently at Lake City, Gainesville, Cross City and out in Tallahassee in the Big Bend region. Also, at Cecil Commerce on Jacksonville's westside, they are reporting 30 degrees.

It is very cold this morning for sure and another cool day with max temps barely making it to 60 degrees. Yesterday's max was only 55 degrees. I am certain frost will be a big concern for tomorrow morning as winds become light to calm. Should see lows tomorrow morning again in the low-mid 30s inland locations.

As I get ready to head off to work, it appears we just missed having a freeze this morning at my locale. It is now 35.3 degrees at 7:50 a.m., so 34 degrees will be my lowest reading for today.

Temps really got cold down the peninsula as upper 30s - lower 40s were all along and across the I-4 corridor. I was amazed with Weeki Wachee reporting 33 degrees down there morning as gsytch informed us of that being a record low for today. Temps in the mid-upper 40s were across South Florida. I will check later, but I have to believe a few record low temps were either tied or broken in areas across that part of the state as well.

38* in Lehigh Acres this morning. East of 75 in Southwest Florida.. east of Ft. Myers. I don't like this March weather. No No NO. Is it possible that this will continue into early April?

Frost warnings will be posted for all interior Florida down to Highlands for tonight. Calm winds will enhance the cooling and frost formation. No worry for me, but inland from Tampa I would not be surprised to see frost in those colder areas, including Polk and Orange counties. It is slow to warm today, but with daylight savings, warmer temps occur peak at 4pm-5pm. This is my spring break week and I am freezing.
By the weekend we should see close to normal, finally. Enough already! :cold:

Is there a free site you can refer me to that provides a narrative of the 10 day, or better yet, the 14 day forecast. I've looked unsuccessfully?

Looking at the weather channel's 10 day forecast for Destin it shows april 4th as 70 degrees, winds NW at 8mph partly cloudy with a 60% chance of showers and april 5th as 71 degrees, winds ESE at 8 mph, cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. I'm wondering why. What feature or circumstance is producing that forecast?

Lastly, how accurate are 10-14 day forecasts with regards to temperatures?

Thanks.

48* as a low here. Quick warm-up in the sun but still only 54* here now. It never gets this cold at this time of the year.

It was 40.4 degrees at my locale when I left at 7 AM, it was a "WOW moment" for sure! Funny thing was that when I saw the Weather Channel right before leaving, they were showing how the weather was in Washington D.C. saying it was currently "Sunny with a temperature of 40 degrees" lol. It was the very same thing here in Fla!

Of course I suppose they won't rise much from that up there though :P

I'll doubt there will be much frost in Orange County, MOS shows winds near 10 knots through the night with a low of 42, with winds changing a bit more from the N and NNE it makes for the east coast of FL to be a little warmer than the west coast of FL.
Maybe frost for the wind sheltered areas the most likely.

Dont be too sure about that frost. Those colder locales will definitely be in the right mode for it. It is NOT warming like they said. Less wind, but I have not risen above 57F at all. It is COLD even with the warm sun.
This is, without a doubt, a WOW cold snap! :cold:

These low dewpoints are incredible for late March let alone December or January for peninsula Florida. Check out how the low dewpoints extend deep into the Florida Straits...

Currently 35.4 degrees and a good layer of frost at my locale just before 6 a.m. Also, NWS Jax office has officially set a new record low for this morning with 35 degrees, breaking a record which stood for more than 100 years for this date.

Hang in there folks. We will see a warm-up this Easter weekend as temps should be back at seasonable norms statewide.

39.4F at wake up here. I've noticed temps approaching freezing in way out agriculture areas to the east of me in E Pasco, Hernando and Polk counties. This is a cold snap for the record books! Off to NJ so I miss the warmup. :cold:

47* and chilly. Two blanket night that barely sufficed come morning. They say it will get into the 70's today though with the NE wind shift. :cold:

Edit: 11 degree rise in the last hour and a half. The March sun is settling the issue. :sun:

Another morning of record breaking low temps across most of FL, I am going to repeat again how lucky we are that this pattern did not happened 3 months ago, hard freezes would had been all across central FL.

Looks at these incredibly low relative humidities across central and South Florida for Thu. at 4pm EST. Even deep into the Everglades at the southern tip of the peninsula, humidities are in the teens. Unbelievable for late March...however..winds are gradually shifting more to the NE and these relative humidity values will be on the increase slowly the next several days and back to climatological norms by late this weekend/early next week
