Nothing but sun (and some haze) today...beautiful and middle 80'sF - barely any rain the other day, less than a tenth of an inch. Hopeful for more in the next few days.

Looks like some more beneficial rain on tap, especially late this afternoon and tonight across my area as warm front and Low Pressure wave approaches the region. Could see 1-2 inch rainfall totals with some isolaled spots of 2-4 inches possible.

(surprise?) Tornado Watch sprung up for the Central FL peninsula...calls for significant weather along the seabreeze collisions.

Still no rain. The hose is doing all the work now. Wish some of this muggy, moisture laden air would result in rain for ME! Muggy and dry! :grr:

All the sudden storms are beginning to pop across my area this afternoon, good thing they put up tornado watch, some of these cells are starting to spin, including one in NW Orange County right now.

Ended up with a little over 2" of rain yesterday, very much needed. Unlike last spring, this is turning to be a little wetter!

Drying trend over the next couple of days but rains return by the end of the week into the weekend for central FL as yet another cold front may stall on the Peninsula thanks to the NAO going positive.

It rained Sun night, but it was about a quarter of an inch. Not nearly enough. Send it my way we have been so dry this year. I have totaled less than 4" total YTD! :darrow:

Accuweather is hinting at a cold outbreak (for April) coming later into next week. Anyone see this? Perhaps upper 40;s for a night or two? It sbeen so hot for a week when we were freezing only 3 weeks ago...

:uarrow: I really doubt we will cool down that much for the rest of April.
The GFS does not make sense of such a cool down to happen here in FL with the AO & NAO now positive and forecasted by its ensembles to remain positive over the next couple of weeks with the PNA near to below average.

Yes, they have already backed off the low temps significantly with perhaps a brief cooldown to 77/57 for a day. I do remember a chilly night here or there in April but not cold, and Ive been here 25 years. Now, some rainfall would be really super!

:uarrow: Just an FYI that the extended forecast by accuweather is nothing but raw numbers of the GFS model, which I would discount anyway past its 5-7 day forecast because it has not been doing too well in its medium range forecast.
Is better to go with the official forecast by your local NWS office which uses much better MOS numbers.

Yes, saw the "cooldown"....hose out yet again. Rain just misses us and goes inland. About 4" total YTD, maybe. So dry yet so humid!

It will be a cool, rainy day here for tomorrow. Expecting max temps to only reach the low 60s as a north-northeast wind flow will filter into the area behind the frontal system.. A big change from today for sure. The temp hit 90.4 degrees today at my locale, the first 90 degree reading for 2013.

Here in Orlando unlike last month overall it has been a very warm and humid month so far, today we hit 92 degrees, the 5th time we have hit 90 or higher this year, a brief cool down tomorrow because of rain and cloud cover but the front will not sweep the humidity too far away with the winds coming back onshore by Sunday bringing back the humidity and chance of showers. We will remain with an onshore wind off the Atlantic for most of the week so no 90s for east central FL expected.

Actually, NDG, a nor'easter is going to set up over the Jax area this weekend as a cool dome of High Pressure will wedge down the Lee of the Appalachians and a wave of Low Pressure is forecast to form just off the Florida East Coast along the stalled frontal boundary. I checked the NWS marine forecast for Sunday and northeast winds of up to 35 kts are being forecast off shore of Jax Beach.

A very dreary day is in store for me here today. Also, the cold front came through overnight and it is chilly this morning. Considering that it hit 90 degrees yesterday here for the first time this year, this is quite a difference this morning for sure!

It is currently 52.7 degrees and moderate rain falling at my locale. Currently, just over 1/2 inch of rain has fallen with much more to come today and later this weekend.

It is very possible that a record daytime max temperature may be challenged today at the NWS office. The record is 62 degrees and if the rain holds firm for most of day along with the cool northerly flow filtering across the area, could see that mark broken today.

Still looks like the nor'easter I discussed in my post last night is going to develop tomorrow into Monday here in the Jax area. That will make for some windy conditions and more rain, and will follow that closely tomorrow.

Looks like a cool day for you northjaxpro, I would not doubt if it stays in the 50s all day up there if it stays at least cloudy for the rest of the day.
We actually have to go to the St Augustine and to Fleming Island today, I told my wife to wear winter cloths, she looked at me like I was crazy, lol.
