Really worrying stuff for the whole west, north-west and north of Wichita. Rain-wrapped apparently, too.

Today got serious far too quickly. One big cell and BOOM, tornado over a metro area.

UNTIL 415 PM CDT...

...TORNADO EMERGENCY FOR WICHITA...

AT 345 PM CDT...A CONFIRMED LARGE...VIOLENT AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
TORNADO WAS LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF WICHITA...AND MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

HAZARD...DEADLY TORNADO.

SOURCE...WEATHER SPOTTERS CONFIRMED TORNADO.

IMPACT...YOU COULD BE KILLED IF NOT UNDERGROUND OR IN A TORNADO
SHELTER. COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF NEIGHBORHOODS...BUSINESSES
AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DEADLY TO
PEOPLE AND ANIMALS.

You know - when the words violent, catastrophic and wedge are being thrown out by the NWS - it could be pretty bad.

Well this escalated quickly far far to quickly :( I am watching TWC those clouds over OK are looking very very ominous.

NWS Wichita is resuming operations now. They cannot see the tornado.
