You can register there, but you can also do it on line. There is a link in the first post about the workshop.

It's a very informal cafe. Tables outside in the shade and inside. We can sit outside and slide a few tables together. At 11am they've just opened, so there should be no crowd.

Just so y'all know, the Free Press Summer Festival will be going on (begins on Saturday at 11am) at Eleanor Tinsley park. This is off of Allen Parkway near Taft. I don't know that it will impact travel, but there will be a lot of crowds about in that area.

For more info (NOT advertising the event - simply providing info): http://fpsf.com/go.php#general_info

In 2009 there were 30,000 attendees.
In 2011 there were 60,000.
You do the math!! :)

    That is on the other side of downtown from the GRB so hopefully it won't affect the traffic much. If you are coming into downtown from the West I wouldn't use Memorial Drive or Allen Parkway though.
10s of thousands also attend the Workshop over the 5 hours it is open. See everyone there!!

Well folks, unless a miracle occurs between now and tomorrow morning I will not be attending. I have done something to my hip while stretching before exercising at the gym. Doctor says it isn't broken but doesn't know what it is(family practice doc and not my usual one who I trust a lot)so I have to see an orthapaedist on Monday. Unfortunately, even though I can walk, there is no way I can do the workshop. I am hoping I wake up and all is well tomorrow. I wish someone had the sign I made just so everyone will know it is the S2K group(and I think if Dr. Knabb or Dr. Reed saw it they might come over and say hi since I was fortunate enough to meet and talk with both of them at length last year.
HAVE FUN ANYWAY!! Make WXman57 introduce you to them. He knows them both. If you don't mind send up a few prayers and good thoughts for me.

Awww... hope you wake up tomorrow and feel good as new VB.

How will we find each other? I might recognize KatDaddy, but that's it for me. I will be wearing an HFD t-shirt, but there probably will be a lot of people doing that. I have some markers - should I make a sign?

Didn't I bring a stuffed animal to one of our get-togethers?

I know! I have a bright orange cat that I will bring in with me.
LOOK FOR THE BRIGHT ORANGE STUFFED CAT. Don't make me feel foolish... come up and say hello. :)

I believe srainhou is going to be there, too. His company is about to start on a remodeling job at my house in a week. Doesn't look like my wife will make it - she has to work.

Heading out on my bike now (9:20am). Be at the Lake House in the park across from George R. Brown around 11. Will be on the lake side of the cafe sitting outside by my bike.
