Hey gsytch, you know the old saying... "be careful what you wish/hope for"".
Hey, I know you need the rain down there in your neck of the woods, but this rainmaker coming in from GOM is destined to bring you a significant amount in the next few days.

I personally do not flood, ever, even after Debby's 22 inches last year. It is a mountain here (Florida standards lol at 16 feet) but seriously, seeing all the rainfall in the state, less than inch for June makes me feel deficient. However, nothing will be brown and my hose can go asleep! I am very pleased at this moisture - but honestly I figured when it did rain it would be in buckets! like usual........

It is just pouring now, winds not too bad. The radar is lit up and some bands coming up from Pinellas are reds and oranges - always a concern during a tropical system. Last year during Debby a tornado came thru doing enough damage, thank you. Not this time please. Figures - cannot get just good rains. Easily 2 inches of rains so far. It appears once this major band goes thru, it should begin to settle down - hopefully!

I just measured nearly 1.25 inches of rain in just over 30 minutes as that impressive band of rain moved through my locale. This is only the beginning. Flooding will really be a major concern through tomorrow morning.
I am really concerned late today and tonight as Andrea will move directly over Northeast Florida. Severe weather and possible tornadoes and flooding are really going to be potential problems, especially tonight.

Andrea's weakening COC steadily moving E-NE through Suwannee River valley. COC now approaching the Lake City area.
May see tropical storm wind gusts with the rain squalls approaching the Jax area for the COC in the next hour or so.

A beautiful, post-Andrea day. Nice breezes off the GOM which is, no doubt, a few degrees cooler due to upwelling. Partly cloudy skies all day. Humid but not extremely so. upper 80'sF afternoon that feels kind of nice with the breeze. Everything is so nice and moist - and happy!
and I am happy , too, no hose!

How much total rain did you measure during Andrea gsytch? I measured just over 3.25 inches for the event. Thankfully Andrea blew through the area to save us from getting more additional rain because heaven knows we don't need any more rain for quite some time. We are so far above the average total should be for the year to date. It has been a long time since I have seen the grass so lush and green around here. I am having the mow the lawn too frequently these days for sure.

I had to spend yesterday afternoon trimming back my garden, bushes, etc...
Plants have been growing crazy because of this wet pattern Orlando has been in the last couple of months. My plants look as if it was August/September already. It was nice that it did not rained yesterday so things got to dry up a bit.

Well, recorded 93.6 degrees today, the hottest day so far this early summer season at my locale. Missed out on the summer thunderstorms today, which is good as we definitely need to dry out after recent rains from Andrea and the seabreeze front thunderstorms from last weekend.
No tropical trouble seen on the horizon for awhile threatening the peninsula. So, at least on that front, we should be OK for the time being.

Nothing has fallen since Sun evening's half inch. Yesterday I was just north of Orlando where a HUGE storm complex formed. Lightning bolts exploded. Winds. It rained so hard I did not even bother to drive home and waited an hour. Here - sunny and muggy at 7pm when I arrived. Looks like a dry week. When is the next chance of good rains?
